Corrected and simplified: Get your free credit report this week (Credit · Foundation)
Two corrections after re-verifying every source. (1) The FTC error statistic now reads "one in four people found at least one error that could affect their score" — the earlier version said one in five, which was actually the share whose reports were corrected after a dispute. (2) Free weekly report access is a permanent program the three bureaus adopted in October 2023; federal law itself guarantees one free report per bureau per year. Also added the FTC's October 2023 announcement as a source, fixed a broken FTC link, and shortened sentences throughout for readability.
